Kathmandu- Paro

Upon
arrival process Bhutan visa paying US $ cash 20 /- per person.
Meet, assist and transfer to hotel.The flight into the
Himalayas reveals breathtaking views of the great peaks,
taking you right into the Dragon Kingdom's cloud scraping
airstrip at Paro (Altitude 7000 ft.). Your Bhutanese escort
will great you on arrival and drive you through beautiful Paro
valley to the hotel. Situated on a breezy pine scented
hillside. After refreshment take a stroll around the little
town at Paro. After
lunch you will be taken to Ta- Dzong (Museum). Overnight at
hotel.

Day 02

A drive to the ruins of Drugyel Dzong
(18 kms up Paro valley). Built in 1647 by Shabdrung Ngawang
Namgyal to commemorate his victory over the Tibetan invaders.
On a clear day, the 7314m white-domed peak of sacred Mt.
Chomolhari (Mountain of Goddess) looms overhead. Then, visit
the Taa Daong - The National museum, housed in an ancient
watch-tower. This museum has fine collection of ancient
thankas paintings, textiles, weapons and other artifacts.
Evening at leisure. Meals and overnight at the hotel. |

Day 03

Paro-
Chonana
(3500m) |

Start
trekking. - Most of the days walk is a gradual climb through
Bhutanese farm houses. The view of Paro valley from the trail
is excellent. Overnight in tent in Chonana. |

Day 04 |
Chonana-
Jebkarpo |
|
Uphill for about 5 hours walking it slowly and allowing for plenty of
stops. The trail take you through a forest filled with many
species of Primula and Rhododendrons, from the pass and the
trail along the ridge of Chilila the Himalayan range of Bhutan
can also be seen. Overnight in tent. |

Day 05 |
Jabkarpo-
Lower Mingula
(3845 m.) |
|
Distance 15 kms. Today is a day to be up early. The early morning views
from camp of Chomolhari "Divine mountain of Goddess"
Tserim Kang. Glacier of long life. And Jichu Drake are
stunning. The trail follows the ridge and besides the view of
the mountains you can also see the valley of Paro and Haa.

Another day
with excellent view of mountains and valleys. On this route it
is very common to see yak herders. Overnight in Tent. |

Thong
- Paro. |

Descend back to Paro valley. The trek ends at Drukgyel Dzong.

Paro - Kathmandu by
Druk Air flight. |

Early
breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the airport to board
the flight. Your Bhutanese escort will assist you with exit
formalities and bid you farewell. |
