The
Royal Chitwan National Park, one of Asia's richest and most
spectacular wildlife sanctuaries, is situated 75 air miles
southwest of Kathmandu. In this panoramic jungle setting we
operate a unique vacation facility: CHITWAN JUNGLE LODGE.
Of
all the world's remaining jungles, one of the most enchanting is
Royal Chitwan National Park in the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal.
Here, at Chitwan Jungle Lodge, you will discover a lost world of
towering trees and twisting vines, of pre-historic rhino and
lumbering elephants, of crocodile, python and deer; of brilliantly
colored birds and if you are fortunate - the superb Royal Bengal
Tiger.
Chitwan
Jungle Lodge is proud to be the pioneers of environmentally
sensitive nature tourism in Nepal. Our Lodge is used as a model
throughout Asia. We believe that responsible and controlled
tourism can benefit conservation and indigenous people
Chitwan
Jungle Lodge lies in the park, on the banks of the river Rapti.
Listen to the sounds of nature, the forest-birdsong, the rustle of
deer in the bushes or the tempting call of elephants. From the
moment you wake at dawn to roam through the jungle on elephant
back, to the quiet talk around the camp fire at day's end.
Built
from Natural materials it blends perfectly with its jungle
surroundings, and offers luxurious facilities. All the individual
bungalows at Chitwan Jungle Lodge are perfectly blended with
natural surroundings. The rooms are tastefully decorated with
private solar powered hot and cold running showers.
The
thatched central Golghar (round-house) is the heart of Chitwan
Jungle Lodge with a central fireplace and fully stocked bar. Meals
are three course Western style lunches and buffet dinner is either
Nepalese or Chinese cuisine.
From
the tranquillity of Chitwan Jungle Lodge, elephants take you on
safari through the towering grasslands in search of animals. Royal
Bengal tiger, leopard, Greater One-Horned rhinoceros, gaur, four
kinds of deer, two species of monkey, two types of crocodile and
450 different birds all live in the park.
Escorted
walks by trained naturalists are an equally enjoyable opportunity
to explore the remote jungle.
For
wildlife enthusiasts nature walks, bird watching, jungle treks,
landrover drives, wildlife viewing and photography allow guests to
experience the wildlife on an intimate basis.
Chitwan
Jungle Lodge is situated 120 air km south-west of Kathmandu in the
Royal Chitwan National Park, one of Asia's richest and most
spectacular wildlife sanctuaries. Here is the habitat of the
Greater One-Horned rhinoceros, the sloth bear and the majestic
Royal Bengal tiger.
Activities
at the Lodge include elephant safaris, boat trips, jungle treks,
birdwatching excursions, and expeditions by Landrover. Our
experienced naturalists will introduce you to the fantastic array
of flora and fauna in the Park.
The
Rapti river is close and invites for a bath or a canoe ride.
In
the evening enjoy the cultural dances of the Tharus ...
