- Introduction
- Hotel Yak and Yeti, is a premier
five-star deluxe oasis in the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal. Modern
day sophistication greets cultural heritage in the ample grounds
of the 100-year-old palace and newly designed structure of the
hotel. Find refuge among antique fountains, gilded temples and
emerald gardens as you remain just moments away from all the
shops and adventure of the Kathmandu city.
Rest in the neo-classical Lal Durbar or Red
Palace, built more than a century ago by the then Prime Minister Bir
Shumshere Jung Bahadur Rana. A centerpiece of the Yak and Yeti's impressive
hotel, the meticulously restored, Lal Durbar now houses two historic
restaurants, banquet rooms, a grand ballroom and casino. Comfortably
manicured rooms, striking Himalayan views, and its premier location make the
Yak and Yeti an obvious destination for business and for travel.

- Superior Rooms (Newari wing):

- The traditional wing of the Hotel Yak and Yeti is called the
Newari wing. In these special rooms, rich Newari woodcarvings frame
inlaid brick-walls set against peacock blue and autumn décor.
Authentically Nepalese, antiquity and fine craftsmanship are honored
in every detail of design. What's more, all rooms offer a garden or
city view with the grandeur of the Himalayas serving as a natural
backdrop.
-
- Deluxe Rooms (Durbar wing)
The Durbar wing is the latest contemporary addition to the
hotel's accommodation. International elegance is evoked in gentle
shades of peach and pale yellow while subtle Asian mysticism is evoked
in the museum pieces adorning each room. The stunning Himalayas, the
city and lush gardens compose the outer landscapes. The Durbar wing is

- Tibetan and Newari suite
This uniquely designed suite tributes Tibetan style in
architecture, décor and ambiance. The museum-like showcase of the Tibetan
Suite features furniture that has been hand-crafted in age-old tradition,
each piece specially designed. With walls draped in bright silks, framed
by bold woodcarvings and engraved copper plating, the unique cultural
heritage of Tibet is timelessly honored.
Informally referred
to as the Richard Gere Suite, for his continued patronage, offered
is a grand master bedroom, adjoining twin bedroom, grand style bath,
shower and more…
The comfortable living room opens to a full
rooftop garden where the lush grounds of the hotel foot dramatic
views of the Himalayan range.
- Newari Suite
The Newari suite is an immaculate celebration of traditional Nepali
style with lavish rugs and rich woodcarvings set along inlaid brick
walls. This suite is casually called the Steven Segal suite as it is
his personal sanctuary in Nepal. The bedroom is a soft bath of silks
in an antiquated ambiance. The full bath boasts the modern comforts
of a grand immersion tub, shower, and abundant fixtures. The light
and open living room opens to an expansive terrace garden, which
offers 180-degree views of the Himalayas, the city and the tranquil
grounds of the hotel.
